Surnames: WEBSTER, WELLS, TUCKER, FARWELL, SNOW Looking for WEBSTER families in Chittenden county, Vermont, mid 1800's, particularly descendants of Henry WEBSTER born 1784 in Hill (formerly New Chester), Merrimack county, New Hampshire. Henry was the son of Ephraim WEBSTER and Sarah COLBY WELLS, of the Ipswich, Essex co., Massachusetts WEBSTER (Daniel) line. Henry was one of 4 children of Ephraim and Sarah. (Ephraim WEBSTER had first married Phebe TUCKER and they had 10 children.) Henry WEBSTER was married in 1807 in Essex Co., MA to Rebecca FARWELL. Henry and Rebecca WEBSTER moved first to NH then on to Bolton, Chittenden co., VT in 1822. They were the parents of five sons and 4 daughters, names not known. I suspect one daughter might be Sarah Esther WEBSTER, my gr-gr-grandmother who married Harvey SNOW. Harvey and Sarah SNOW are documented living in Bolton on the 1850 census, with their daughter Laura and a Henry B. WEBSTER "blind" age 31 (?). Henry WEBSTER (not the blind one) wrote a marvelous narrative in 1847 about his family, his parents, half-siblings, siblings and children. Missing are the names of his children! The narrative is posted at: http://fraser.cc/Webster/sources/HenrysDocument.html The main page for this very good site gives stories and descendants of Asa WEBSTER of Brockville, Ontario, Henry's half-brother.
