    3. Hello, I'm new here. Looking for info on a Samuel Griffin, who I believe was born in Essex, Chittenden, VT, on 17 Mar 1776. I have that he was married to Sylvia Bradley, and that his parents were Samuel Griffin and Mercy Bailey. I also show a Mercy Nettleton as a second wife for the elder Samuel, and a Mercy Steevens. That's just too many Mercy's in my book. <G> Can anyone straighten me out? Assuming that I've got the right people, I believe I am descended from Samuel and Sylvia's son Albert Bailey Griffin and Laura Emily Beebe, who moved on to Salt Lake City. Thanks! 2. I am looking for information as to whether there was a family of Newtons in the high Falls area of VT In 1860s. My great grandfather was David Silas Newton. On a NY census record it lists his birth place as High Hail Vermont. I have not been able to find that there ever was such a place. His wife was born in Canada so I am now checking near the Canadian border.

    2. I have been trying for some year to locate the burial of my Grandfather. After my grandmother died in 1942 he disappeared. I have traced him to Winooski where he remarried. His second wife died in Burlington. she was born and buried in Milton. Her death certificate says he was alive in 1956. No information after that.

    3. Patricia If you go to my Chittenden county GENWEB site you can download a reuest form to get a death certificate from the state. From this you will get a death date. With a death date you can probably locate the obit in the Burlington Free Press. 3. Hi List, I am researching the John David family. John lived in Shelburne ca 1786-1793 then left for a few years to Canada. He came back around 1813. He lived in Shelburne for a short time before going to Hinesburg. A son of John, Truman David was born in 1789 in Shelburne left the county 1815-1817 and went to Steuben County, New York. He married Lorra Hamilton, daughter of Joseph Hamilton and Anna Hamilton. A daughter of John David, Ruth married Elisah Baker in Canada, and after his death came back to either Shelburne or Hinesburg. According to a history on her son she remarried in 1827. The 1860 census Ruth was living with a child in Michigan, her married name was McDonald. If any of the above connects with your family, I would like to hear from you to exchange information. I need to find out where John David died, the name of Ruth David Baker's second husband Mr. McDonald, and the date and location of death for Joseph Hamilton. Thanks! Gail Clayton gclayton@chorus.net
