I NEED HELP... I am seeking any information on Parentage of John Bingham, born 1824, perhaps in the Frelighsburg, St ArmandEast, or Clarenceville, Quebec area. I have conflicting reports. One says he is the son of Maro Virgil Bingham, Son of Solomon Bingham Jr., while the other says that she has no knowledge of there being such a son. Both pieces of information are from people who should know. So, therefore, I dont know which to accept. I am inclined to go along with the first statement, that he is the son of Maro. It would be nice, however to have proof. I am also seeking any information on a marriage between Arthur Charles(Carol) BINGHAM and Augusta Sylvia Larson. Probable marriage date abt 1905. Location, ? Perhaps in the same area as above. Perhaps in Vermont. Arthur was son of Peter Bingham and Mary Bushey(Boucher). Dob on Arthur, 10-9-1880, in Swanton. Milton, Highgate Vt. area.I am seeking her parents names, if a marriage liscense is available. Also, I am looking for any census information on Augusta Sylvia Larson, dob abt 1885 in Goteborg, Sweden. I do not know who parents were, but, from naming patterns in that era, I might look at Augustus, or August Larson. If anyone has access to 1890 or 1900 census records, I would appreciate a lookup. Also, one last request... Can anyone tell me if Charles translates to CAROL in French. Arthur is listed as Arthur CHARLES on records, and as Arthur CAROL in church records at his Baptism. His son remembered him as Arthur Charles. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as we have been seeking this information for about 30 years. -- Dick Carter rcar37@prodigy.net

Hello Listers, I received the following request and the author has given me permission to post it on the list in hopes any of you might be able to help him. Please respond directly to Paul. Dot ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm Paul Zeller and I'm in the process of writing the history of the 2nd Vermont Volunteer Infantry Regiment and request your assistance in locating any letters, diaries or photographs of member of that unit. This work will be about the experiences of the common soldier, not the generals or their grand strategies. I'm trying, as much as possible, to let the unit members tell their own story. I have exhausted all the resources at the University of Vermont, Vermont Historical, local Vermont historical societies, Library of Congress, and National Archives. If you posses any of the aforementioned articles and would allow me to use copies of them I would be greatly appreciative. I will fully reimburse you for your expenses. The book will be thoroughly footnoted and any document used will be credited to the owning individual. Please E-mail me PAULGZ@aol.com or contact me at : 501 Lotz Dr., Yorktown, VA 23692 or call collect (757) 898-9432.

Patti, There are eight HILL listings in the OWEN genealogy that I have been looking at this weekend. The one I am most interested in would be Benjamin HILL, who married Elizabeth OWEN. They were married in Poultney, Vt., on 16 Apr 1788. Their first two children were born in Granville, New York in 1789 and 1791. The remaining eight children were born in Milton, Vt., from 1794 to 1810. Benjamin HILL was born 12 March 1765, probably in Connecticut, and probably the son of William HILL. He died 14 Nov. 1823 at Milton and was buried in the "Plain" Cemetery. If anyone else has information on this HILL family, would appreciate a response. Thanks. David
