    1. Taylors in Williston
    2. Hi, I'm researching the surname Taylor in Williston in 1790+. Namely the Eldad Taylor family. Eldad, Sr. was there in 1790, came from Westfield, Mass and might have gone into Conn. before VT. He marr. Esther Day in 1754 (in Mass). There children were: Rhoda, b. 1755; Eldad, b. 1756; Wyllys (spelled Willis later), b. 1758; John, b. 1760; Esther, b. 1762; Naomi, b. 1764; Ezra, b. 1765 -- all born in Mass. According to the 1790 census it appears Eldad, Sr. had at least 2 more children. I'm hoping Nehemiah Taylor would have been one of them. He was born in 1773. I've traced Nehemiah but would love to know more about Eldad's family, i.e., land records, will, town records, deaths, etc. If anyone can help me add or eliminate Nehemiah from this family I would really appreciate it. Thank you, Jeanne

    1. Judson's and Fifield's regiments; Barnabas Spear?
    2. Jeffrey Spear
    3. In the war of 1812, would the difference between Judson's and Fifield's regiments of the Vermont militia have been the geographical location? I'm exploring the possibility that my known ancestor, Francis Spear (b. 1793, Charlotte) was the son of a Barnabas Spear and the sibling of Barnabas Spear, Jr. Appreciate any and all help. --- Jeffrey Spear --- jeffspear@earthlink.net --- EarthLink: It's your Internet.

    3. Dear Friends, The forwarded message about a possible Internet charge of $.05 per e-mail is false. There is no Rep. Schnell - - - there is no Washington lawyer as reported. I have assiduously searched for any fact in these fallacious reports. There is none ! ! ! ! Please forward to whoever you want that there is not now, nor will there be, in the foreseeable future, a tax on e-mail, in any form. And PLEASE - - do just a little checking before you blindly forward alarm messages across the Internet. Peace be with you and yours, Don Love

    1. Augustus PLACE, War of 1812 Veteran
    2. Augustus PLACE, born in RI in 1774, was listed in Alburgh, Grand Isle Co., VT, in the 1810 census, and we know that there was an Augustus PLACE in Capt Pettis' company during the War of 1812. But were they the same man? I'd know the answer if I could find out the age at enlistment of the war veteran. Does anyone on the list have the answer? Can anyone point me to a source (preferably on line) where I can get the answer? (I have been searching, unsuccessfuly). I'd be eternally grateful for any assistance offered in this regard.
