    3. Pam, Perhaps you would like to try this website. www.babelfish.altavista.com/translate.dyn It will enable you to do your own translating from French to English or English to French; also Spanish, Italian, German and Portugese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. I've used it with good success with my Italian lines. (Tried it tonight - it came up, but slowly. Have patience!) Would like to hear about other translating websites, too. 3. Hi , Great to see activity here. My Blanchard was from Colchester. This is early 1800. Moses and Job Blanchard who died about 1810 and are buried I hope in a cemetery with a name on a headstone. Records indicate they lived at Mathers Head or Potato Point. Probably where resort area is today. Abiel Blanchard was declared non compos by court and was assigned a guardian. His wife and family left before 1820 to reside with her sister and family , the Bensons, in Cortland Co Ny. A son James Blanchard born ca 1807 , was our line. There was a Hannah Blanchard who married a Smith and a son, by another daughter named Elijah Wood. Is there an old burying ground in the Colchester vicinity that could have records? Diane Titus Any day you wake up, is a good day.

    2. Richard and Sheila Brooks
    3. Thank you Ruthie. The information you supplied me regarding Charles Learned and Polly Washburn was very interesting. However, I believe there would be at least two generation between the Charles Learned you found and the one I have. My Charles was married to Augusta Octavia Stevens who was born Feb 4, 1864 in Waterford, Maine. According to the obituary that was published for Augusta O. Learned, there was a sister to Charles Bert Learned called to Waterford, Me from Vermont for her funeral. Augusta died April 26, 1923. The obituary also stated that Augusta had had 5 children. Three of them were at her funeral. Charles Bert Learned Jr., Sadie B. Pennock and Addie A. Olmstead. Was there by any chance more information on the grandchildren of your Charles Learned's grandchildren? Thank you for your time and help. Sheila (Goodwin) Brooks

    3. Hi Listers, The two names I am researching for Chittendon County are Blanchard and Tisdale. My g.g.grandfather Erastus Tisdale was born 1796 in Milton in Chittendon County. His wife Hannah was born around 1801 in Georgia Plains. I have information on the family after they moved to Michigan in 1834 but nothing on them and their lives in Vermont. Norma

    2. Hello List members, I am researching the surnames Snyder/Snider, White, Lamore, and Tifft in Chittenden county from the mid-1700's to the mid-1800's and some of same names moving to Medina and Lorain counties in Ohio. Susan Littmann

    03/01/2001 02:48:43
    1. Lamore/Lamory/Lamoire
    2. To Ted Richard and anyone else researching these surnames: I have a Carolyn Lamore and a Nancy Lamore who married into my White family and eventually ended up in Medina and Lorain counties in Ohio. There was a Louis Lamory in Burlington in the 1830 census, also a Joseph Lamor and Joseph Lamoire in Williston in 1830. I think this is the family that Carolyn and Nancy came from, and the spelling is similar enough that I wonder if we have a connection? Susan Littmann
