I appreciate hearing if the lookups that I do are of some help to people, so please let me know if any info that I send to you is helpful. It helps me to decide where, when and how (or how not) to do future lookups on the mailing list. Yes I think this is the same couple. Somebody else found Lucy STILES and her brother Jonathan in the same book. I also believe that Jonathan's grandson Edwin G. STILES and ? Lucy's granddaughter Charlotte Elizabeth GODDARD married in Illinois. The problem is documenting the hunches in between. My hunches for John and Lucy GODDARD are that they moved to Barnet, VT, from there to Grafton or Lyman, NH, from there to Milton or Georgia, VT, but I have really no evidence for that. I eventually did find John's son Caleb GODDARD in Georgia, where he left very little evidence and what he left increases the confusion, i.e. he has a Lucy SHAW living with him who is 90 years old in 1850, the right age about to be his mother....If his father John GODDARD died in Milton VT in 1812, did his mother marry a SHAW later? More speculation. What I am really hoping is that somebody else is out there who is working on these lines. Thank you for answering my posting. Are you related? Hi, I'm researching my great-grandmother, Mary LaFlash. She was born about 1874 in Chittenden County. The marriage register entry for her in Worcester County, MA indicates she was born in Essex Center. Her parents were Joseph LaFlash and Mary Bashaw of Chittenden County (they moved to North Smithsfield, RI by 1894 when Mary married Albert Henry Perkins. Albert was born in Windsor County, VT (possibly Barnard) to Walter and Lorraine Perkins. I'm interested in any information on the LaFlash (LaFleche) and Bashaw (possibly Bashan) families that might be related from Chittenden County. Thanks, Doug McCallum dougm@3acres.org
I am only researching one family from Colchester, Chittenden County. I have been stuck for years. My gg grandmother was Hannah T. Ames, born Dec. 3, 1815 in Colchester. She died Dec. 5, 1864 in Illinois. She was married in 1838 in Illinois so her family moved from Vermont before that time. I am looking for the names of her parents, siblings, or any lead I can get on anyone named Ames. Mary Randall
