Hakala, 6, of 292 Salisbury street, tornado victims, will be held Friday at 3 p.m. at the Miles Memorial Chapel in Jefferson. Rev. W. Reed Usher of the Congregational Church will officiate. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery. Mr. Hakala was the husband of Paula T. (Leijona) Hakala. He was born in Worcester and lived here 12 years. He was employed at the Norton Co. He was the son of John A. and Hilda M. (Wiida) Hakala. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves one son Alan L. Hakala, and one brother Aaro I. Hakala of Worcester. Liisa leaves, besides her mother, brother, and paternal grandparents, her maternal grandparents, Axel A. and Laura H. (Vuoristi) Leijona of Worcester. Webster. Thursday - Funeral services for Stephen T. Chmieleski, also known as Stephen Miller, 54, of 42 Harris street, who died at his home Tuesday night after a long illness, will be held Friday morning at 8 from the Scanlon Funeral Home with a solemn high mass at 9 in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Mr. Chmieleski was born in Poland, but had lived here to the past 47 years. He was a member of the PACC. Besides his wife, Mary (Napierata), he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Irene Martel, Mrs. Esther Reynolds and Mrs. Florence Parent all of Webster; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Valenty Baldyga of Dudley; two step-sisters, Miss Rose Baldyga and Mrs. Victoria Wawrzyniak, both of Dudley; three step-brothers, Stanley Baldyga of Dudley and William and Charles Baldyga, both of Webster; and two grandchildren. Hudson, Thursday - Sarkis Tatlian, 58, of 487 Main street, died suddenly yesterday on his arrival at Hudson Hospital. Death was due to natural causes. He was born in Turkey, lived here 40 years, and was a member of the Eagles. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Arshalous (Des Arakalian) Tatlian, and two sisters, one in France, and the other in Armenia. Mendon, Thursday - The funeral of Mrs. Mary J. Alves of Blackstone street took place yesterday morning from Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, Milford, with a high mass in Sacred Heart Church at Hopedale with Rev. John Foley, celebrant. Bearers were Fred Cote, Albert and Joseph N. Alves, all of Hopedale; Fred, Raymond and Everyett Kempton of this town. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery, Milford. More to follow.
