I'm always looking for connections (direct or collateral) to my BAILEY of Vermont family (the different family groups lived in different counties). The James Bailey family were residents of Peacham, Caledonia Co. James BAILEY, b. Feb 11, 1720/1721, in Newbury, Essex Co., MA. James d. Apr 24, 1808, in Peacham, Caledonia Co., VT. The 1st spouse of James was: Rachel BERRY, and they married about 1745 in Greenland, Rockingham Co. NH. Their children:Hannah, Rachel, James. Mary, Esther, Joshua, Abijah, Benjamin, Luther The 2nd spouse of James was: Mary KINCAID, and they wed sometime after 1762. He was one of the first settlers of Peacham, Vermont. During the French and Indian War, his home in Peacham was the only Block house in town. James was supposedly a Town Official in early Peacham. I have no proof that any of the above is true :) Please contact me if you can "relate" to this family unit or provide directions for obtaining documentation. Thanks. Diane Decker-Warneke
