    2. William L Harvey
    3. Well, good morning, Mariana, This is indeed a nice way to begin the day! Martha H Harvey appears to be a neice of Anna Maria Harvey. Anna Maria Harvey is purportedly the sister of my 2nd gr-grandfather, Ferdinand. They are said to be ch. of Joel and Betsy (BOWEN)) Harvey. I have been trying for the past 4 years to unsnarl the step-relationship of the children listed in the AF and IGI for Joel and Betsy (2nd wife) since Joel's first wife, Susanna FARR, appears to have been the mother of at least 3 ch. before she died in 1807. I have also been actively trying to sort out the maternal ancestry of Betsy BOWEN. Progress has been slow to say the least! The AF and IGI give a birth date of Abt. 1821 for Anna Maria. Ferdinand's gravestone gives a dob of 9 Mar 1821. AF/IGI indicate that Ferdinand d. in 1852. He is found in the 1850, 1860 and 1870 Caledonia Co. census records and is later found in California records until his death in Dec. 1890. There does not seem to be a Vermont VR verified dob for any of Joel's 9 ch. Have you found any? The VT family members appear to have moved from Chesterfield, Chesire Co., NH about 1801 or shortly after. Father Isaiah, and his sons, Isaiah, Joel, and John are known to be active in the Caledonia Co. area before 1810 and these folks appear to have been joined at a later date by some of their "elders". I have purchased the Vermont Vital Records for Harvey from 1760 - 1870 and for 1871 - 1908 and have not yet found good dob for any of the children - still looking though. The Scottish family of Alexander Harvey are very noticable in this database and tend to make the Harvey sorting a slow and tedious chore. There was at least one other major branch of Harveys present during the same time frame which originated from NH (Keene) having come initially from the same Taunton MA area as did "our" branch. Incidentally, our branch stems from William Harvey b. 1614 ENG, one of the first proprietors of Taunton in case you were not aware. . I have the same marriage date of Anna Maria and Orange W May. I did not have his dob or parents. You can probably tell by my verboseness that I am glad to have made the contact with your husbnds line! Could you give me what you know about Anna Maria beyond what I have shown above? I would be pleased to share whatever you would like on the "rest of the story". I am using FTM vs. 7.0 and can provide the data pretty much in whatever format you would prefer.
