Artemas (Artemas) H WOOD m. Martha H(ill) HARVEY (b. 26 Aug 1857, St. Johnsbury, VT) on 4 Sep 1878 in Windsor, Windsor Co., VT. (State of Vermont - General Index to Vital Records : 1760 to 1870 & 1871 to 1908, Martha Harvey, age 21, of Windsor m. Wood, Artemas H 4 Sept 1878 in Windsor; Martha b. St Johnsbury [or Kirby]; mother Sophronia E Hill; father Ferdinand Harvey.) Neither Artemas nor Martha were found in the 1880 census for Windsor Co., VT. Martha Harvey was the only one of Ferdinand and Sophronia's children who did not move from St.Johnsbury, VT to California in late 1871 or 1872. I have thus far been unable to determine where/who Martha lived with from the time her family left VT until the time of her marriage in 1878. FTM CD # 322 gives the following information re : Artemus H WOOD : Artemus H. Wood : 1900 Federal Census; Lynn, Essex Co., MA; Microfilm Roll Number 644; Microfilm Page # 40 I would like to make contact with anyone knowledgeable of this WOOD family in Vermont or Lynn, Essex Co., MA ca. 1880 -- 1900; or with this HARVEY family of Caledonia Co., VT, between 1801 to 1872 . I have a fairly extensive HARVEY data base and would like to exchange information with interested relatives. This Harvey family has an earlier marriage into the Luther WOOD family of VT but I have not been able to connect Artemus to this Vermont WOOD family Also, if anyone has an opportunity to take a look at the aforementioned 1900 Lynn census to see who else is listed as being in the family it would certainly be of help. An e-mail message of findings would be fine -- if Martha is located I will order the 1900 and 1910 Lynn census films for viewing at my FHC.
