Hi List....... I'm searching for a William Harrison ELLIS who lived in Cavendish and Rockingham and possible Danville, VT. He could be listed as just HARRISON ELLIS also. He m. Eliza b. 1819 VT(surname unknown) and had the following children with her. 1870 census in WI William H. Ellis b. 1847 d. Dakota Territory ?(m. Clara Fitch of Maine) John J. Ellis b. 1849 - Edwin H. Ellis b. 1853 d. 1887-1894 (m Fanny Hemenway of WI) Franklin M. Ellis b. 1855 or 1857 d. WA 1937 All children b. VT There may also be an older child with the name of Harrison Ellis b. before 1847 in NY. There is a William Harrison ELLIS in civil war 16th inf. co. C and same in 7th co. G. Probably same person or father and son. This ELLIS was from Cavendish and Rockingham, VT My ELLIS people came over from Scotland and were dairy farmers. I find there was an ELLIS family with a large dairy farm in Essex, VT. I am in contact with a person looking for a Nettie (Betty) Ellis b. 1920's or 1930's who lived on this farm.
