FYI. -----Original Message----- From: Carol Bauer [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, February 06, 2001 10:00 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: Caledonia name origin Karima, I don't know if this is appropriate for your site, but "Caledonia" is a poetic name for Scotland. I found this out because in Minnesota we have a town named Caledonia. By the way, the pictures are beautiful, but take a long time to come thru on my 56K modem. Can they be compressed? Thank you. "Caledonia" is taken from the ancient name for much of the area that is now Scotland, Latin I believe. It was borrowed from that into poetry. By the way, your message came to the Caledonia County list. Karima is better reached on the Vermont list, [email protected] although she will probably see the message here too.
