I have MILES from Sheffield too.....who I believe were originally from Eaton NH. I haven't noticed any connections to GRAYs in our line but also I do not have much information. If you should find out anything more, especially concerning the MILES connections, I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you! Joyce Bard Westfield, MA

    2. Alger and Walcott Family
    3. The only children I have for Nathaniel Gray and Elizabeth Miles I have in my database are three daughters: Levina, born 21 Dec 1803; Betsy, born 14 May 1806 and another Betsy born 23 Dec 1807 (these births from Sheffield Town Records, Book 1, page 219). That is not to say they didn't have other chidlren. I do now know who Nathaniel's parent were. Elizabeth may be the Betsy, daughter of Reuben and Lydia Miles. Her birth is listed in the Sheffield town records on page 203 -- she was born on 9 Jul 1794. We know that the first boy born in Sheffield, William Gray, was born 28 Aug 1794. Perhaps Elizabeth was born in Sheffield, but likely not. Possibly Harman can shed more light on this family. I have his e-mail address as: [email protected] BTW, I have probably 7-8 Miles and Grays marrying. There just weren't that many people in Sheffield at that time(nor now, for that matter!)
