Mariana, Let me tell you what I am doing and why I am searching for info on him so that you can determine what more I may need, if anything. I went to Newark, VT - 2 out of their 3 cemeteries. Searching for BEANs, BALLs, and allied families. James Bradley BALL and his wife Abigail STARR were early settlers of the town of Newark, Caledonia, VT. My ancestor Hannah BEAN d/o Andrew BEAN and Hannah BRIAR/BRYER/BRIER/BRIARD/BUYER/BEYER...this Andrew was the s/o Andrew BEAN and Betsey SINCLAIR. Reference - Life and Family of John Bean of Exeter and his Cousins by Bernie Bean (I do not have further access to this book except at the library) pg 29 "We do not know this list of his children with one exception. Nor do we know his wife's name. In March 1831 the family moved from Sandwich to W. Charleston, VT., where both Andrew and his wife died. In 1893 Andrew wrote a letter to Jacob Bean of Boston in which he gave the family pedigree as follows: Andrew, Andrew, Andrew, Josiah, David, John, Daniel, John. Thus one son of Andrew we know about is Andrew J. b. North Sandwich, 10 Oct 1821. Bean, Andrew VT ORLEANS CO. CHARLSTON 183 1830 My Hannah would be Andrew's sister b. 28 June 1826 in Sandwich, Carroll, NH. In the 1860 VT Census pg 49 - Guildhall in the County of ? of VT enumerated by me, on the 10t day of June 1860 - Hannah wife of Wilbur F Ball age 22 place of birth NH Hannah BEAN married Wilbur Fiske BALL in Brighton, Orleans/Essex, VT on Feb 19-20 1843. According to the census she would be too young to be born in 1826 as the census would imply she was born in 1838. Well, back to my interest in Alonzo... I found Alonzo's headstone (1888 - 1923) in what I thought was the Newark Cemetery. The name of the cemetery was given to me by another person in the cemetery, so it was most probably the Pleasant Hill Cemetery you refer to in your response. I will update my records to reflect that name for the cemetery. Thanks for the clarification. Next to Alonzo was a headstone for John L. Dewey (1863 - 1935). Perhaps Ina was nearby but I haven't seen her stone yet. I videotaped the cemetery to refer back to as I research the names that I made note of, such as Alonzo. I do not have Chester BEAN in my file so if you could give me another generation or two back on him that would be great. I would like to see if he is one of my BEANs. Thanks for the info you have provided so far and I appreciate anything more you can provide. Thanks, Cherryl
