    3. Thanks to all who responded to my query regarding Samuel Drown. Shortly after receiving most of the responses, I took a quick trip and managed to stop for a shile in Sheffield, VT! (My spouse, and the actual Drown descendent, doesn't share my obsession so couldn't stay long). Anyway, without finding any actual new info I was seeking, I did stop by the Sheffield Freewill Baptist Church. The following grave stones from behind the church may be of some interest to some of you: Dea. Stephen Drown, died Apr. 6, 1841 ae 72 yrs. Sarah, wife of Dea. Stephen Drown, died Nov. 2, 1865, ae 89 yrs, 6 mos. Dea. Horace Drown, died Aug. 31, 1882, ae 75 yrs, 4 mos. 11 dys. Sally Ann Randall, wife of Horace Drown, died Nov 13 1868, ae 48 yrs, 10 mos., 19 dys Lucy Ann Ingalls, wife of Horace Drown, died Sept 21, 1904, ae 74 yrs, 21 dys. Cornelius P. Also found at clerks ofc. : Amos G. Drown age 31, farmer of Wheelock, Vt. married 5th January 1859 to Ann Mitchell age 26 from Sheffield, Vt. Samuel Drown & Mercy Bickford m. 7 Dec 1815, Sheffield, Vt. from Sheffield Town Records, Vol II 1796-1857 p. 259 A record of the ages of the Miles Drown family Amos G. Drown b. 21 March 1824 Enoch b. 15 March 1826 Dyantha b. 26 June 1831 Archelaus b. 4 Aug 1833 While in Eliot, Maine found a photocopy of the gravestone of Samuel Drown: Here lyes the body of Samuell Drowne senr aged 43 yrs 19 mos. and 18 dys died Janry 25 1720 21 He was buried at teh Morrell Homestead lot in Eliot, Me. "It was near the cellar of the old Morrell house which burned. Stone can no longer be found." Also found seperately, not on my trip, that in the DAR records for a Mrs. Helen Maria Drown Dick, they list her as a descendant of Samuel Drown and Mary Severy (Seavey?) his 2nd wife, m. 1754. Can anyone clear this up? Who is his first wife? Where did they die? Does anyone have info on a Shem Drown that married a Roxana Bundy? Shem would have been born around 1800 Thanks again for all your help. Brenda Drowne [email protected]
