Linda, I'd be happy to correspond with you on the MILES surname. I don't have very much information as of yet. I just today received the birth record for my great-grandmother Cynthia Miles that listed her parents as John MILES (such an uncommon name, isn't it? <g>) and "Emily" - no other name given. They resided in Wheelock at the time of Cynthia's birth in 1864. During the past summer, I went to the New England Historic Genealogical Society in Boston and found quite a bit of information that led me to the birthplace and date of Cynthia. I did this through researching her married name: MARCOU. I am hoping to go back again when I can get the time and look at the microfilm for the MILES surname, hopefully covering the time period of when Cynthia would have been born; perhaps I can locate some siblings or hers, or a marriage record for her parents - anything!! As I teach school, and live about 100 miles from Boston, this will probably have to wait until February school vacation, weather permitting, or the April one. But I will keep your letter "on file" and also wouldn't mind corresponding in the meantime.
