    3. My interest in the Hartwell family is somewhat indirect. Nancy Hartwell (b. 1 June 1801), [sister of Philemon], married 6 Dec 1821 in Newark, Caledonia Co., VT, Francis [Frank] Smith. Frank was son of Nathan Smith and Elisheba Atwood -- and two of my grandchildren are descended from Nathan and Elisheba, through Frank's brother, Asa. [Follow that?] As a result of correspondence with other Smith family members, I have a fairly large database of descendants of Frank and Nancy (Hartwell) Smith, and would be happy to make new contacts with those interested in those lines. 3. Hi Cherryl, I just downloaded about a month's worth of e-mail messages (yes, I HAVE been out of touch) and I found this message from you among them. I am not sure at this point whether we've had correspondence before or not, however, I am interested in references you have made in this message for James Ball and his wife Abigail Starr. I am wondering if you have any further information on the family of Abigail Starr? Also what children you have for them. I have two children in my database for them, although I know there must be more: 1) Sally Ball b. 2 Dec 1789 Guilford, CT; 2) Louise Ball b. abt 1806 Newark, VT. My interest and connection with this family would be through Sally Ball who married into my Hartwell line (Philemon Hartwell) in Newark, VT. They married 28 Jun 1812 in Newark. Sally Ball Hartwell died rather young, in 1845, and Philemon Hartwell didn't die until 1873 in Newark, although I don't have a second wife for him in my database. I would be interested in all further information you have on the Ball/Starr Family. Thank you.
