    1. [VTBENNIN] Thomas HARRIS War of 1812 for Joann
    2. Jan J.
    3. Hi Joann, "On Nov. 6, 1812 the legislature authorized the raising of a volunteer corps of 68 companys {two brigades} for the service of the Federal Government...For most part the Vermonters who served in the Regular Army were in the 11th Infantry. The 11th was organized in 1812, and served for the duration of the war." Sorry, I do not know whether or not your Thomas HARRIS is the same Thomas HARRIS who fought in the War of 1812 nor where the soldier was assigned. Good luck researching ancestors, Jan Jordan jnichols@sover.net (Joann H. Nichols) <<I am researching a Flavilla Harris, who was a daughter of Thomas and Achsah (--?--) Harris. There is a Thomas Harris listed in the Roster for the War of 1812-1814. Joann jnichols@sover.net >>
