Mrs. Rosalie Abare Gosselin, 88, widow of Napoleon Gosselin, died at her home, 162 Granger street, Rutland, Vt.,yesterday morning after a long illness. Mrs. Gosselin was born in Peru, N.Y., February 20, 1859, and has resided in Rutland, Vt. practically all her life. Survivors are two sons and three daughters, Fred H. Gosselin of Springfield,Vt., Harriet Gosselin of Rutland, Vt., Mrs. Clayton Ferguson of Albany, N. Y., Mrs. Ernest Javery of Bennington, Vt., and Edward N. Gosselin of Joliet, ILL. A sister, Mrs. Mary Fredette of this city also survives. Another son, William L. Gosselin of this city, died on June 28 of this year. Surviving also are 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great great- grandchild. She was a member of the St. Ann society of the Church of the Sacred Heart of Mary where the funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery. Rutland Vt. Gosselin of 162 Granger street, Rutland, Vt., who died at her home on Tuesday morning, was held yesterday morning at 9 a.m. at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Mary. A solemn requiem high mass was celebrated by the pastor, the Rev. A. L. Desautels, the Rev. Michael A. Demasi, acting as deacon and the Rev. James D. Lovenbury sub-deacon. The Misses Maude Rocheleau and Emma Marceau were the vocalists.Mrs. Irene Eno accompanying at the organ. Members of the St. Ann society attended the funeral. Honorary bearers of the society were Mrs. Edith Vondette, Mrs. Ida Bursey, Mrs. Fred Beauchamp and Mrs. Lawrence Bartlett. The active bearers were Fred Beauchamp, Thomas A. Dyer, Mark E. Casey, Norbert J. Bachand of Rutland, Rufus Vincent of Springfield, Vt. and Howard V. Geno of Proctor, Vt.. The family members received floral tributes from the Graves Tank and Manufacturing company of East Chicago, Ind., Phoenix Manufacturing company of Joliet, ILL., numerous friends, relatives and neighbors. Burial was in the family plot in St. Joseph's cemetery, Fr. Desautels reading the prayers of the committal service. Persons from outside Rutland attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs.Fred Gosselin of Springfield, Vt.,Edward N.Gosselin of Joliet, ILL., Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gosselin, Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Gosselin of Claremont, N.H., Mr. and Mr. John Carney of Silver Bay, N. Y.,the Rev. Leon Gosselin of Burlington, Vt., Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Ferguson of Albany, N.Y., Mr. and MR. Ernest Javery, Mrs. Michael Burke of Bennington, Vt. and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Odell of Jamaica, N.Y.
