On my visit to VT last year, I found early births at the county clerk's office in each town. I repeat, each town. Some of these towns are so small that the county clerk works from home. It is best that if there isn't an email, that you write them. Of course if you are visiting there, then call first. Save you time and effort. The town clerk in the bigger towns are helpful and the records are well documented. By the way, have you tried contacting the Bennington Museum's Historical Society. There is a website and they do answer queries. They have the second best repository of VT records, with Barre, VT being the first. Either agency would be of great help to you. Volunteers and all. Both have websites...just search via the internet. Good hunting.
