Hi Sally, Sorry, there is not an Asa SPENCER nor Waterman SPENCER listed in "State of Vermont ROSTER of SOLDIERS in the WAR of 1812-14", 1933, page 399.  Only 1/3 of the towns of residence of the SPENCER soldiers are listed. The closest would be Abel SPENCER from Ira, Rutland Co., VT, and William SPENCER, Wagoneer, from Pittsford, Rutland Co., VT. Also, two SPENCER soldier's wifes names were Mary and Persis.
