I have discovered that the 1900 and 1910 census for the Vermont State Prison in Windsor, Windsor Co., VT, contains the name of someone I am researching. His name is Seamon Leroy Witherell (sometimes spelled Wetherell); he was born in Winhall, Bennington Co., VT. His second wife, whom he married 6 May 1884 in Grafton, VT, was Flora Etta (Howe) Slocum. Does anyone know where records for the state prison in Windsor would be kept? I'd like to discover why he was in the prison. He died in Grafton on 27 Jan. 1917. His widow died 28 Aug. 1918. Thanks for any help! Joann Nichols
