I recently recieved the military records for the War of 1812 of my ggg grandfather, Elijah Woodward, born 1790 in N.H., died 1854 in Ticonderoga. N.Y. He joined 1 July ,1812, he was send to Champlain,N.Y. In Sept 1812 he was send to Ticonderoga and Crown Point with a file of men to bring back soldiers that had over stayed their leaves. He became sick and went home to recover and his father , Elijah Woodward,Sr went back in his place--Elijah the younger got well and went back to camp. In 3 weeks he was sick again and was send home and his father went back in his place again--in 3 weeks Elijah the father got sick and died. So I know that my gggg grandfather, Elijah Woodward ,Sr died in 1812. Elijah the younger was discharged. Since my ggg grandfather , Elijah Woodward born in 1790 N. H. and now I know that his father was Elijah Woodward--there is only 1 Elijah Woodward in N.H. in the 1790 census--in the town of Wendell, Cheshire county. But he is not there in 1800 but there is a Elijah Woodward in Vermont in 1800 --Orange County, Vershire and then there is a Elijah Woodward in 1810 in Landgrove township , Bennington County, Vermont. Does anyone know the children of the Elijah Woodward living in Landgrove, Bennington County in 1810--he had a son Ambrose and a son Charles but did he have a son Elijah? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Hilma Ardito --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? vote.yahoo.com - Register online to vote today!
