Hello, Does anyone have any information on the Moffitt (various spellings) surname in Bennington County ? I am trying to connect Elvin Moffitt, b. abt 1794 in VT, as a son of Jude (also known as Judah) Moffitt, b. Brimfield MA 17 April 1761. Jude was in Pawlet, Rutland County for many years, starting in the 1800 Census. I really think this is Elvin's father, based on naming patterns and proximity, but I've been fooled before!
