    3. Hi, Listed in "ROLLS OF VERMONT SOLDIERS IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR 1775-1783", 1998 which gives mainly their payroll information are: ~Charles JONES served in Capt. Elijah Gate's Company of Volunteers, in Col. Benjamin Wait's Battalion in the service of the State of Vermont, from the 17th of July, 1781, to the 15th of Dec. 1781, inclusive. Commencement of pay: Sept. 30; Ending of pay: Nov. 28; Days 60; Per day: 1.4; miles: 40; Total 5.16.8 [5 pounds, 16 shillings, 8 pence]. Received of the Treasurer the contents of the above warrant, Oct. 24, 1784.
