Hi researchers, I received this message below today and thought perhaps someone could help Helen. I am related to the CROSIER family in Searsburg, Vermont. Jan ------------------------------------------------------Date: Mon, Jul 26, 2004 From: <hgraves@psln.com> To: GREENSLIT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Early Bennington VT Marriage ...This Greenslit marriage took place in Bennington, Bennington Co., VT, in 1828: Malinda Greenslit married Norman Hinsdale Crosier on 10 Aug 1828. He was born 3 Jan 1806, so I suspect she was born 1806-1810. They had 3 children: a. John Greenslit Crosier b. Sarah Elizabeth Crosier c. Asher Prentiss Crosier Malinda Greenslit Croser died 6 May 1836; her husband married wife #2 Jane Smith and they had children. If Malinda was born 1806-1810, and their first child could have been named, John Greenslit Crosier, I suspect that this Malinda was the daughter of John Greenslit of Bennington. So far, he is the only probable son of James Greenslit of Bennington who was old enough to be married and have a child 1806-1810. Helen Greenslit Graves Greenslit List Mom
Hi, I received this today and thought perhaps someone could help Helen. Jan ----------------------------------------------------- Jul 26, 2004 From: <hgraves@psln.com> To: GREENSLIT-L@rootsweb.com Subject: 1848 Bennington Marriage According to Bennington, Bennington Co., VT marriage records: Maryett Greenslit married Alonzo Wilcox (or Wilson?) on 25 Jan 1848. The abstractors of this marriage record listed WILCOX in one place and WILSON in another. Who were Maryett Greenslit's parents? Does anyone know? If she was 20, she was born c. 1828 and would appear as a female under 5 on the 1830 Bennington census. Helen Greenslit Graves Greenslit List Mom

Hello, Everyone, I am researching the Joshua Rood shown as the father of a Joseph Rood on a Family History Library film. Joseph was born on October 23, 1795, Pownal, Bennington, Vermont and the father's name is Joshua as shown on the film. Joseph had one known child, Chauncey. Chauncey's enlistment papers for the Civil War give his birthplace as Bennington, Vermont. Chauncey and Joseph were living in Ohio at the time he enlisted. Chauncey was born about 1823. I know nothing of any siblings for him. I know nothing of the wives of Joseph and Joshua or any other details of their lives. I will be very grateful for any help anyone can give me. Thanks, Elaine Kaufman
