    1. PHILLIPS/GARDINER
    2. Linda Kent
    3. I'm interested in the PHILLIPS line that was in Pownal Twp., Bennington Co., VT in the 1790 census. Job PHILLIPS was listed as having 4-1-3 living in his household. Yes, there is another Job PHILLIPS listed, but there's not enough people residing in this household. Job PHILLIPS was born in 1741 in Rhode Island, he was a Revolunatary Veteran and obtain his pension when he was living in Athens County, Ohio around 1820. Job's parents were John PHILLIPS & Tabitha GARDINER.. John was born 27 Sept 1712, RI and died in Pownal Twp., Bennington Co., VT between 1790-1799. Tabitha GARDINER was born about 1714 Rhode Island. I have two other known children: James (no information) & Daniel--living near Job in 1790 Census. If anyone is researching the PHILLIPS or GARDINER line or have any additional information on this family, I would like to hear from you. Thank You Linda

    3. Has any one on the list attempted to chart all of the descendants of brothers George and Benjamin Gardner who were among the first settlers in Pownal? I've often thought it would be a great challenge, but not sure that I am up to doing that alone. I was thinking about trying to do 4 or 5 generations of descendants. Gayle in Kansas

    1. PARKER Family Vermont
    2. While this PARKER discussion is going on it would be a good time for me to re-post a query regarding Sylvia (HOPKINS) PARKER who signed an affidavit for her sister Cynthia (HOPKINS) HULET (1775-1860) to be able to receive her widow's pension for the revolutionary war pensioner Aaron HULET (1755-1835) of Shaftsbury, Bennington Co., VT. Sylvia and Cynthia also had another sister Bethia (HOPKINS) REYNOLDS. I have been unable to locate any more information on either Sylvia PARKER or Bethia REYNOLDS. I do not know if they are older or younger than Cynthia, and I do not know where they resided but suspect either Bennington Co., VT., or perhaps Rhode Island where these people originally came from. They most likely lived near Cynthia in Shaftsbury in order to sign documents. Just a hunch. Aaron HULET is most likely related, perhaps through the HOPKINS family to the MATTISONs as Aaron and Cynthia are buried in "Mattison's Ground", aka "The Little Rhodie Cemetery" in Shaftsbury. If any of these names sound at all familiar I would love to hear from anyone that is willing to collaborate.
