I have just begun detailed research on the Gideon SAGE family that moved to Middlebury, Addison, VT sometime prior to 1790 from Connecticut. Things are a bit minimal right now but I did find Gideon in the 1790 census the families of Gideon, David and Eleazur (Elizur) SAGE in the 1800 census for Middlebury, Addison, VT. According to my research so far everything seems to fit except the first child of David and Melissa appears to be a girl. I have no record of a child born before 1806. The four children (all unverified at this point) that I have found so far are: Alma (b. 1806), George (b. 1810), Elizur (b. 1812) and David B (b. 1818) - all in Addison.
