    2. Source, Rutland Vt.Herald--Sat. Aug. 7,1937. RUTLAND, VT. JOSEPH BROWN DIES OF HEART ATTACK Center Street Stoneworker Stricken on Sidewalk on His Way to Work. Six hours after he was found, unconscious, yesterday morning at 7:05 o'clock on the sidewalk on Evelyn street (Rutland, Vt), Joseph Brown, stoneworker, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Francis W. Baker, 25 1/2 Center street from a heart attack. A call reached the police station a few minutes after 7, saying that a man was laying on the Evelyn street walk.Officers Quincy M. Baker and John L. Dinn, who went to the scene found Brown. An emergency call for a physician brought Dr. James J. Reedy to the scene. The man regained his senses after a few moments and asked to be taken to the Kinsman & Mills monumental shop on West street, where he was employed. The officers took him there in the police department automobile. A little later Brown became worse again, and was moved to the Baker home, where he lived. Death came soon afterward. The man was subject to heart attacks, relatives said, and it was one of these which overcame him when he was on Evelyn street, while walking to his work. Mr. Brown was born in Center Rutland, Vt. 52 years ago and had lived in the city and vicinity all of his life. He had been employed by Kinsman & Mills for 36 years. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Howard Ellison of Tyson, Vt. ; two step-sons, Allen and Carroll Wade of Tyson, Vt.; a brother , George Brown of Rutland, Vt. ; two sisters, Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Nathan Lethbridge of Shoreham, Vt. The body was taken to the Mullin Funeral home on Grove street where services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
