    2. Source, Rutland Daily Herald--Sat. Feb. 8, 1941. LEICESTER, VT. Mrs.Frank Dumas was called Sunday to her home in Ticonderoga by the critical illness of her mother, Mrs. Sarah Aunchman. Word has been received from Montpelier of the serious illness of Mrs. B. S. Hayes, who is spending the winter there with her husband, Representative B. S. Hayes. Howard Osborne and three friends of South Hadley Falls, Mass., spent the weekend with Mrs. Charles Johnson at the home of her son, Ellsworth. Mrs. Frank Burr returned Tuesday from the Rutland hospital where she had been receiving treatment. Mrs. Earl Sprague and two children spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Johnson of Brandon, who are recovering from the grippe. Russell Moulton spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cole. Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Vail and three children accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Moulton to New Lebanon, N. Y., on Sunday. Word was received from Martin Memoe, who is a patient at the veteran's hospital in White River Junction, that he is now able to sit up. Miss Germaine Benjamin from Brattleboro spent the weekend with her sister, Mrs. Martin Memoe. John Hough, jr., who has had employment in Wheatley, Mass., for several months has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Royce Ryder have moved to Brandon where Ryder has employment with Hollis Richmond. There was a card party at Kenneth Williams for the benefit of the Red Cross. There were 18 tables in play. Refreshments were served. Twenty-five dollars was cleared. Fabian Foley of Brushton, N. Y., is with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foley. Forrest Ayer and two daughters of Vergennes were guests Monday of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Ayer. Norman Bailey, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bailey, is ill of Scarlet fever.
