Can someone tell me what this organization is? "Orwell Camp No. 11,407 M.W.A." It is referenced in an article in the Ticonderoga Sentinel Jan. 18, 1906 (column for Orwell): "...The second annual ball of Orwell Camp No. 11,407, M.W.A., was held at the town hall Friday evening Jan. 12 (1906)...The principal feature was the drill by the Forester team of 16 men under the management of Captain C.L. Stay...in their new uniforms of blue did credit to themselves and their captain. In position they were as follows: ....D.W. Doane, Otis Doane..." (these 2 Doane men of the 16 names listed are my family) "...When the bugle call sounded they came in single file through the little white tent on the stage down before the audience...They followed the grand march led by Venerable Counsel L. B. Needham, followed by officers in rank and filled up by 100 couples..." Does anyone know anything about this organization? Thanks, Donna
