As a child, my cousins and I all experienced overhearing conversations about native american blood, but when we asked about it, nobody wanted to discuss it, as though it were a skeletin in the closet. My Great Great Grandfather, Edrick Adams had a daughter named Minnehaha. SHe died at 13 and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery with her parents. We are pretty sure there is a native american connection, but have been unable to find it. Edrick's mother (first wife of Friend) was Elizabeth STAGG. STAGG seems like it could be a native american name, but we can find no information on her. Perhaps they married in Connecticut before coming to Vermont. Also would love to find pictures of Edrick and Friend and their respective families, and the old Adams Ferry wharf. Wesley F.
