Probably all who settled in Addison Co. VT were descended from John and his English forebears. I have extracted the following data from my Meader file which was based on the files of Bertha (Brown) Hanson, a historian who lived in Starksboro VT. 17. JOEL11 MEADER (David10, Nicholas9,8, John7,6,5, Thomas4,3, William2, Nicholas1), b. 2 Oct 1781, m. Dover NH Rebecca, dau. of Andrew & Mary AUSTIN, b. 28 Oct 1778. They moved to Farnham, Quebec, and in 1838 to IN, possibly Elkhart area. Children: i. Annie12, b. 1 or14 Oct 1801 possibly Starksboro VT, d.___, m. William HILL. In 1893 she was living in Russell, St. Lawrence Co. NY. ii. Ruhamah12, b. 4 Apr 1803, possibly Starksboro VT, d.___, m. Daniel NICHOLS. In 1893 she was living in Russell, St. Lawrence Co. NY. Could she be the Ruhamah who m. Saul BULL in possibly an earlier marriage? iii. David12, b. 20 Aug 1805/6 Starksboro VT, d. 9 Dec 1869 Elkhart IN. He was married two times. iii. Andrew12, b. 7 Jan 1808, d. before 1892. Unmarried. iv. Valentine12, b. 5 or 12 Sep 1810, d.___, m.___ and lived in Madrid IA. v. Jephtha12, b.___, d.___, m. and lived in Madrid IA. vi. Mary12, b. 8 Mar 1813, d.___, m.___ vii. Joel12, b.___, d.___, m.___ and lived in Madison KS.
