Samuel Knight of Shoreham and Fanny Knight b. around 1834, had a son Frank A. Knight, born in Orwell on 1/22/1852 (per Frank's death certificate, although I cannot get his birth certificate, and the Town of Orwell has no records of these Knight's). My theory is, that Samuel & Fanny had the one child, Frank A. Knight, maybe they weren't even married. Then by 1860 they were definitely split up, as Fanny can be found in the 1860 Shoreham census, living with George Doane of Shoreham, whom she later married and had several children with. Records of her children's births with Doane, and her son Frank Knight's death certificate, list her maiden name as "unknown," or it is blank on the records. She is listed on some records as born in Vermont, Connecticut or New York. I could never find little Frank living with Fanny & her new husband, George, on any census records. I cannot find any vital records on Samuel Knight of Shoreham; on his son Frank's birth in Orwell; or any records on Fanny. I also cannot find any records indicating where Frank grew up. As an adult, he shows up finally in Ossining, NY, where he married and died. Thanks, Donna
