Source, Rutland Vt. Herald--June 28, 1917. ORWELL, VT. Mrs. Charles Aiken and daughter, Elizabeth, of Benson, visited recently at the home of Mrs. Aiken's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Hack, for a few days this week. Allen Forbs made a flying visit to some of his old friends in town Monday morning on his way back to Massachusetts. Dr. Thomas Hack of Proctor visited his people here Friday, June 22d. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Charron of Casselman, Ont., arrived in town Saturday, the 23d, to visit his brothers, Albert and Charles Charron. They will return to Casselman on Wednesday, the 27th. John E. Walker of Schenectady, N. Y., was in town Monday. Edward Ross motored to Ticonderoga, N. Y., on Monday to see Mrs. Ross, who is in the hospital recovering from an operation. She is gaining very rapidly. Leon P. Lilly, who has been employed in a laundry in Mount Hermon, Mass., came home Saturday, the 23d, and will remain for the summer to assist his father, Richard P. Lilly, on the farm. Christine Plue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Plue of Salisbury, is for a few days at the home of her uncle, A. C. Plue. Road Commissioner F. J. Coburn started the much needed repairs on the village street on Tuesday. Remember the Red Cross meeting on Thursday at 2 p.m., at Mrs. J. Stevens' home in the village. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Young, together with Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Bessette, Mrs. L. M. Isaacs and son, Clark, motored to the Y.M.C.A. camp at Lake Dunmore Tuesday , the 26th, where Mr. Isaacs is camping with a party of boys from this town. Milton Rowe, who graduated this year from the Brandon high school, took second prize in the speaking contest held last week during the commencement exercises. He began his duties on Monday at Brandon Inn, where he has a position for the summer. The Foreign Department of the Woman's Missionary auxiliary will hold its next meeting the afternoon of Friday, July 6, at the home of Mrs. Abbie Buell. S. C. Burt of Leicester Junction visited his mother, Mrs. Ida Burt, on Friday.
