    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: FERGUSON, HEDDING, SUTTON Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nAC.2ACI/1446 Message Board Post: The Christian Advocate - May 2, 1889 George W. FERGUSON died in Starksboro, Addison County, Vermont, March 20, 1889, in his 77th year. His mother was a sister of the late Bishop Elijah HEDDING, and before his birth his father's house was a house of prayer and the resting--place for the Methodist itinerant. In early manhood he received Christ. He united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and remained a faithful member nearly fifty years. He was noted for integrity and sympathy. He was twice elected to the Vermont Legislature. As a member of the church, he was earnest and liberal in his support. He honored the offices he filled, and was class-leader and steward at his death. His health was poor about four years, but the last year he suffered greatly from difficult breathing. Apparently with little pain he passed away. An appropraite discourse was delivered by Rev. George T. SUTTON from the text, "For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Rev. David FERGUSON
