(spelt Chirstina mostly).. The Russell's and the Sawyer's and the Gillies all farmed in the same area and inter wed with each other it seems.. MY ggrandfather Elijah L Sawyer, married Christina Russell b:1839 to d: Abt 1879 Starksboro, VT.. Married abt 1858 in Starksboro, Vt.. They had 5 childred: 1. Florence Adella Sawyer 1859 Addison, Vt to 1933 Moody SD Married Charles William Gilley 20 Mar. 1878 Addison Ct Vt 2. Tressia Jennette Sawyer 1861 to 1862 Starksboro, Vt.. 3. Eva Jwella Sawyer 1870 to 1887 Starksboro VT.. 4. Joseph Warren Sawyer 1874 Starksboro VT to 1954 Wy.. My grandfather.. The Gilley side takes off rather well.. I have discovered cousin's I didnt' know I had.. On another note.. Two of the Russell sons from Joseph served in the civil war.. Michell Russell and Elijah L Sawyer, volunteered together on 8 Sept 1862 IN Addison co Vt.. They fought for the Union.. They both safey mustered out on 30 July 1863 in Brattleboro VT.. YES they were at Gettsburg.. Hiram C Russell inlisted on 6 Sept. 1864 and Mustered out safely on 13 June 1865.. I believe he was drafted, not a volunteer.. I have a record of Hiram C Russell's marrage to a Lucy A Goldthwart on the 30 Aug 1846 in Worthington, Hampshire county.. Hope this ties in some more for you.. Barbara Sawyer Smithwick..
