Sheriden Newton, who has been very ill for several months, is able to be out. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Piper have returned home from a trip to Old Orchard, Me. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hewett who have been spending several days in Brandon, have returned home. Philip Tucker has returned to Latham, N.Y., after visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Tucker. Mrs. Bessie Wheeler of Underhill is spending some time with her daughter, Mrs.Robert Prentiss. Recent guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hindesdale were, Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Hindesdale of Hinesburg, Wright Hindesdale , son ,Thomas, and daughter, Lovoice, of Philadelphia, and Mr. and Mrs. George Roberts of Vergennes. Michael Fitzpatrick of Bridport has been a guest of Edwin Dahlin. Fred Page, jr., of New Haven, Conn., is spending his vacation with his mother and brother at the Ross homestead. Mr. and Mr. Gardner Goodro and two sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith of Hudson Falls, N.Y., have been visitors at the home of the former's brother, Harry Goodro. Charles LaBeoff and Augustus Pigeon have leased the Kendall door and sash factory for a year, and will largely increase the amount of business. George Ballard, clerk in the McCuen store, has returned to Ludlow. The Vergennes cornet band has been reorganized, and has engaged Prof. A. D. Vittum, member of the Queen city band, as leader. Found them in the 1850 census Whiting, Addison, Vermont Federal census, they had a Lorinda Brown living with them.......I am guessing it is Edna's mother. I found mention of a law case JEREMIAH C. PIERCE VS STILLMAN BROWN in Addison County court. Didn't see any genealogical connection tho.     2. Source, Rutland Daily Herald--Tues.Nov. 15, 1938. RAYMOND FORREST. MIDDLEBURY, Vt., Nov. 14--Raymond Lawrence Forrest, son of Phillip and Clara (Danyew) Forrest died at Porter hospital this morning at 9:45 following a short illness. He was born April 19, 1925 in Middlebury and is survived by his parents, four sisters, Mrs. Edward Plante of Holyoke, Mass., Marion, Lucille and Ruth of Middlebury ; three brothers, Kenneth, Phillip and Francis. He attended the seventh grade of Middlebury Graded school. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's church with burial in St. Mary's cemetery. Transcribed by, Joan H. Bixby

    3. I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the HILL Family of Vermont. The first is a photograph of Sylvanus HILL which was taken at the J. W. Everts Studio in Bristol, VT. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's or 1890's with Sylvanus appearing to be in his 60's at the time. The second photograph is identified as Mrs. Sylvanus HILL, taken at the same studio at likely the same time she also appears to be in her 50's or 60's at the time. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding the couple: Sylvanus HILL b. 11 Oct 1822 in Starksboro, VT to parents Samuel & Catherine HILL. He married Mary HANSON (b. 14 Aug 1826 in Starksboro, VT) about 1844 in Starksboro, VT and died 22 Jan 1905 in Starksboro, VT and is buried there in the North Cemetery. HUBBARD. All I have ever been able to find, for several years now, is the date of 04 Mar. 1805 without any documentation or location but they/both families were (as far as I know) still in Vermont and had not as yet crossed over into Canada. (I will take care of the obvious answers right now and tell you I do not have access to a LDS library to look at film and believe little of what I find on familysearch.org).
