    1. [VTADDISO] Bullock and Cota(e) Genealogy
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Erinraid1 Surnames: Bullock, Cota(e), Rivers Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.counties.addison/3093/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for any possible relative with either of these surnames in your family history. My maiden name is Bullock and my ancestors were settled in the Addison County area, I believe when they first came down from Canada. The towns I know of are: Cornwall, Shoreham, Middlebury, Orwell, and possibly New Haven. Unfortunately I have been unable to make a trip to all of these towns to check records. I'm hoping to make up there once the weather breaks and can find some funds. Some key names are: Theodore and Sophia (Cota) Bullock, Louis and Frozene (Rivers) Cota(e), and Thomas and Mary (Compel) Bullock. These individuals are great grandparents and GG grandparents. In fact I found a very old photo of a woman underneath a photo of Theodore and Sophia. It must of either his mother or hers. It's such a wonderful photo I just wish I knew what to call her. Please anybody with any information at all please contact me a Erinraid@comcast.net. Even if it's to rule out any connection. B! ut with everyone up in that area with these last names there must a connection somewhere. Thank you. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. [VTADDISO] Solomon Lord and Benjamin Lord
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: RobertaEstes13 Surnames: Lore, Lord Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.counties.addison/3092/mb.ashx Message Board Post: My ancestor, Anthony Lore (or Lord) born in 1806 in Canada (from his naturalization papers) married Rachel Levina Hill born in 1815, daughter of Joseph and Naby Hill of Briston Township about 1833-1835. Based on later family information, I had always believed his last name was Lore, but it appears to have been Lord, an Acanian name. Anthony named his children Curtis Benjamin, William Henry, Maria, Tunis, Adin (also A.D.), Solomon Jehiel, Minerva, Franklin, Nathaniel, Mary and Marella. Looking at the early census of Addison County, I find Solomon Lord in Bristol Township in the right time to be the father of Anthony. Even earlier, I find a Benjamin Lord. Given the naming pattern of Solomon and Benjamin, I am very very interested is these two men. Does anyone have any information whatsoever about these families. Also, we do have a Lore descendant who has done the DNA test, so if any Lord's have tested, we can determine if they share a common ancestor. I'd like to hear from anyone with any information about this family. Thank you so much. Roberta Estes restes@comcast.net Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I was looking for Pier and checked the Hier listing to make sure there wasn't a typo. I was looking in the early 1800's so the Hier I found was probably Amanda's father but I don't recall the first name. The FHC also had books with birth records going back that far but not all births were listed. Hope this points you in the right direction, Lynn Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Sylvester Sr. did not have a brother called Harry or Harvey. He did have one named Isaac Henry (1808-1860?). This brother was closest in age to my Lucy (1810-1895). I have Rufus H. Britell (abt 1830-1912), mar. Mary Katie Trout (d: 1887 Missouri), had a son Wm. S. Britell. Don't know of any other children of Rufus, maybe a Frank. Can you fill me in on the other family groups? Who was your father's father and mother? Rufus, Sylvester Jr., and Harry each have CW pension applications so there are some vital stats in those files. I know nothing about Orville or Charles.
