I already have a picture of the tombstone: http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r231/fros135/tombstones/sprivaitsa.jpg I don't have an exact date of death though. I think if you Google them you will find an e-mail address to use. The person I get information from is Meg Page, a librarian there. Did the Vergennes town clerk have a death record for her? It would be good if you could have an exact date of death before you ask for an obituary. 3. It is one thing that shows your ancestor's own signature..as well as his place of birth and parent's names as he/she knew them to be. The Rootsweb.com site that has the Social Security Death Index has a link where you could print out the record you looked on the form needed to send in. I like having something that my ancestors signed. No one in my family recognized the last name of Patino. My grandmother's information: Rosanna "Anna" Raymo/Raymond born: December 2, 1885 died: July 1970 She married Stephen Joseph Rivait. No one knows who her mother is. I was able to find out that her father's name is Francis "Frank" Raymond who came from France. According to the 1900 census, he had already remarried to his second wife, Emma, and had several kids: Caroline, Edward, (And later on...) Charles, Clifford, Howard, and Russell are the ones I know of. My father and aunt knew the boys while they were kids. One of my aunts said that Anna's mother died while giving birth. She was the only child from her father's first marriage. I just can't figure out who Anna's mother is. If it's true that in 1900 that she was living with her grandfather, Charles Patino - that means her mother is a Patino as well. My issue is, I can't find any information on Charles Patino except that he had a son named Frank who married Nellie and had some kids. I'm hoping that by getting this information out there, someone will recognize the names and help me out. Supposedly Charles immigrated into the states from Canada in 1882. The surnames that I know of is that Anna has been registered as Raymo and Raymond. For Charles, I've seen Patino and Patenaude. Author: jbrbnk Surnames: Cobb, Haskins, Alger Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.counties.addison/3105.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: More on Abbie Cobb Haskins Alger: Abbie at age 17 is enumerated on the 1900 Census of Lincoln VT in her father's household: James M. COBB age 52 --Jul 1847, Susan E. 41 --Oct 1858, George G. 23 --Oct 1876, Abbie L. 17 --Dec 1882, Amos O. 15 --Nov 1884, Carrie E. 13 --Nov 1886, Estella B. 11 --Apr 1889, John M. 9 --Apr 1891, Frank E. 4 --Oct 1895. All b. VT. 1920 Census of Starksboro VT lists John Alger 54, Abby Alger 40, Minnie Haskins 10, Fred W. Alger 5, Edmund J. Alger 2. It looks like Minnie was originally enumerated as a daughter, but then Haskins is written where the line (used instead of ditto marks under the surnames come down the column from John Alger) and Step is written in front of daughter. A problem then arises for the surnames of Fred and Edmund who follow Minnie. The line in front of their names has mistakenly been taken by transcribers as Haskins when it should be Alger. 1930 Census of Hinesburg VT lists John Alger 60, Abbie Alger 39, Fred Alger 16, Edmond Alger 11, and Clinton Alger 8. Author: jbrbnk Surnames: Cobb, Alger Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.counties.addison/3105.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I have info on Starksboro families mostly handwritten research by the late Bertha B. Hanson which I have transcribed. JOHN HASKINS, b.___, d.___, m. Abby COBB Child: i. Minnie K., b. 1 Sep 1910 Lincoln VT, d. 31 Jul 2000 Middlebury VT, m. 21 Jun 1927 Walter Chase, son of Ray M. & Mary (Purinton) STOKES, b. 28 Apr 1902, d. 18 Aug 1984. They were buried in Green Mount Cem. Starksboro VT. 1860 census of South Starksboro: two houses beyond Nathan ALGER is Lyman ALGER age 25, Lovina 24, Ruby 4, Edmond 3, and Elwilda 1; then follows David ALGER's household . The proximity of these households would suggest that Lyman might be another son of Nathan, Sr.. If so, a later census (see below) has Lyman's father as b. "Canada English." 1880 census of Starksboro: Lyman 46, Levina 44, John 15, Asentish (female) 14, Lucinda 11, Sylvia 9, Henry 5, Willard 2. 1910 Census of Huntington VT lists John C. ALGER head, and enumerated in his household his father Lyman 77, mother Lavina L. 76, brother Willard 30 and sister-in-law Mary M. 17. All were b. VT but the place of birth for Lyman's father is "Canada English." Vermont, however, was given on the 1880 census. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
