From research, I found her father is Williams Slade and her mother is Lucy E. Ford. She was born about 1871 in Middlebury. Apparently, she married Burton Thompson. I have a photo of her, taken in July 1876, that I would like to get back to family members. It is a CDV and shows her in a side view, with long blonde curles and is wearing a hat. She is a cuite in this photo. If anyone is related to Anna Slade, contact me off-list and I'll get the photo sent to you.

He had been failing for many months. M. Cassada and family have returned to New York. The schools reopened the 4th, with Mrs. Shampeney as teacher at the village, and Miss Pearl Dunham at the branch. His brother was Walter W. and sisters; Alice, Mary, Myrtie. I cannot find any trace of my Dad's life from there until he moved to PA in the late 1920's. He never told us of any kin and I have 3 sisters and one brother still living that are just now finding out all of this. AdaMarie, do you have this bio from Alamakee Biographies? Phyllis Daniel Ettel, sec. 1. P.O. Waukon, farmer, owns 105 acres of land, valued at $40 per acre. He was born in 1823 in Germany, on the banks of the Rhine. His parents emigrated to the U. S. in 1830, locating at Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was married in 1843 to Miss Matilda Gifford, a native of Pennsylvania. In 1845 he moved to Ohio, stopping near Bucyrus, where he engaged in farming and brick making till 1855, when he came to Allamakee Co., 1ocating on his present farm. They have five children: George, Mary B., William G., Charles and Nellie. His son George is at home assisting in running the farm. He was married to Miss Rosina Shattuck, daughter of Luman Shattuck, in November 1867. Their children are Daniel and Matilda. Mr. E. is a member of the M. E. church. pg 488
