Martha married Jefferson Moon in NY. I keep getting emails that say that Betsy Allen married another man, but I figure if it's the same lady that her #1 husband must have died and Samuel Phillips may have been husband #2. I have in my possession the DAR application of a granddaughter of Jefferson's and Martha's with her line to Ethan Allen of Ticonderoga fame.

I found that book a while back. Harriette Gee is my ggg grandmother who married Alexander Daniels. Harriette's parents are Priscilla Young and Francis Gee. I got this information from her death certificate. Pricior Gee shows up on the U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedules Index Record. I shows that she died Jul 1859 in Addison Co VT at the age of 53. I am trying to determine if she is Priscilla. I tried to order the death certificate Pricior from Montpelier, but they sent back my request with "no record found". I called the town clerks offices in Middlebury, Addison, and alot of the other town in Addison County, but no one can find the record. Everytime I try to order records from Vermont, they never can find a record. I am at a loss on where to look next. I am also trying to find out when Francis Gee died. I found him living in Middlebury in 1850. Francis was born aroung 1793. He died in Middlebury. Any help would be appreciated.

In response to several entries about a John Bartram of Weybridge, and later of Fairfield, Franklin Co., VT --- On May 14, 1814, a John Bartram, along with John Sturtevant, Jr, and John's brothers Jesse and Jonathan Sturtevant, acknowledged that they were satisfied with the distributions of the estate of John Sturtevant, Sr., ( ca 1745-1813) my 3rd great grandfather. This John Bartram was NOT listed as a claimant against the estate. There was no indication on this document that John Bartram was "of" anywhere besides Fairfield at this time. Source: Probate Court, Franklin Co, VT (Georgia District), Vol. E, p. 404. A unreliable assumption might be that John Bartram was married to John Sturtevant Sr's daughter, who may have rec'd a share of estate prior to John's death. At this time I do not know the names or actual existance of any daughters for this John Sturtevant and wife Joanna. In Weybridge, there are earmarks recorded for David Bartram May 1815; John Bartrum June 1816; David Bartram Jly 1824. In Fairfield there is an earmark transferred to John Bartram Apr 4, 1801. John Sturtevant had earmarks registered the same time. I think I have found John Bartram in the census of Fairfield 1800 and in Weybridge in 1820. Back to Fairfield in 1830. Where is he in 1810? John Bartram died sometime after 22 Nov 1833 when he executed a deed, Lot 3, 4th Division Fairfield, formerly Smithfield, north 1/2, to Allen Craw for $200. It states both men are "of" Fairfield. John signed his name John (X his mark) Bartram. On the same page was an agreement disclosing 5 notes for a total of $172.17, payable by John Bartram over varying time schedules to the five parties. The notes were all dated 22 Nov 1833 and signed by Allen Craw. This document clearly stated that if John Bartram paid all debts on schedule, Allen Craw would quit claim the deed back to John Bartram. This is probably a family-connected transaction, especially if Allen Craw is related to John Bartram's second wife Hannah Craw Buck Bartram. No relationship was expressed in either document. Source: Fairfield Deeds, Vol. 10, p.133. Still lacking a evidence of a marriage between John Bartram and a daughter of John Sturtevant (d: 1813), one may still suspect this could be possible from the peculiar series of deed transfers and leases starting in 12 Aug 1833 thru 1 Sep 1841, Fairfield Deeds, Bk. 11, pp. 137,138, 156, 172-174, 177, all involving pieces of the same parcel. This includes John Sturtevant (d: 1841), Alfred and Josiah Sturtevant, and a David Bartram and his wife Eunice M. (one deed clearly states "his wife"). No other relationships are expressed but I know that Alfred and Josiah are John's sons living in Fairfield. This John had two other living children, John and Sarah, neither residing in Fairfield, VT, and were not involved in this series of transactions or in the estate settlement when John died 28 Sep 1841. One of the transactions involved John Sturtevant paying $500 for a lease on 27 Ac. for the natural lives of John and Sarah (his wife) to David and Eunice, Alfred & Josiah. Life est! ates are almost always family deals. So suspect that somehow David Bartram and/or his wife are kin to the Sturtevants. But other proof of this is still lacking. Does anyone know more about this David Bartram and wife Eunice M. of Fairfield in Sep 1841? I do not find a marriage record for them in Fairfield books. I copied a lot of other Bartram marriages if you need them. ...Jo
