They were born in Vermont.some of their Childrens names are Harold,Effie,Robert and Ernest Russell all born in Vermont around Lincoln,Bristol. I have kind of ran into a block wall. I have just returned from Alberta where an uncle told me that he was told the Carter ancestors came from Quebec to Northern New England area, eventually made their way back to Vermont- N.Y. area and then back to Quebec around 1800's. My ancestor is James Carter who married Orpha Corey 1836 in Stanbridge, Mississquoi.

Hi, I have a Mary Hill, born in Addison County in 3 Jun 1810. She moved to Richland County, OH before 1826, where she was married to Leonard Parker on 27 Sep 1826. They later moved to Winterset, Madison County, IA. Do you have any connections to her? I have not been able to find her parents. Thanks. Prisoner, With Charles Harris, Taken to Burlington for Hearing. Middlebury, Oct. 18--Edward LaRock, brother of Mamie LaRock, known to movie fans the world over as Jane Grey, was taken to Burlington today where he will be tried before a United States commissioner on the charge of distilling whiskey and selling it illegally. Edward LaRock and Charles Harris, alias Lafountain, were arrested in Bristol Saturday evening by Sheriff G. S. Farr charged with having two quarts of "moonshine" and parts of a still in their possession and were lodged in the Addison county jail over Sunday. They were taken to Burlington this afternoon by Internal Revenue Officer Edward J. Lockwood and D. R. Newbold. They were accompanied by Sheriff Farr. The men who have been stopping in Middlebury off and on since the Addison County fair,hail from New York. LaRock is a native of Middlebury and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph LaRock of Seymour street and is a brother of the actress Jane Grey (Mamie LaRock.)Harris claims to be a brother-in-law of LaRock and ran a tailor shop in the Barnes block in the village for a few weeks last spring. NOT many of the OLD DAR addmissions were ever checked for Proof of the relationship. You should probably find the proof or source before you use this DAR app. I have had the same problems with a GGGGG grandfather. The family that applied to the DAR listed 2 wives, omitting the primary mother, and attaching children that could'nt possibley have been their mothers. This family has put the inof all over the NET. So, I feel that we should ALL find our own sources and proof before we use the info .. And yes, it would be nice to have this all done for us. Also beware of IGI, same goes for info on the Family Search sit as well. They are Guides. Jill in SoCal
