Does anyone have a copy of this writing? If so can you do a quick look=up for me.. PLEASE? << No other state has anything quite like the . Its five thick volumes, in aggregate about six thousand pages, relate in detail the first century or so of the history of every town in thirteen of Vermont's fourteen counties. It was published in a painstaking and complicated series of efforts between 1860 and 1891. A cumulative index volume, compiled by Herbert W. Denio, librarian of the Vermont Historical Society, was published in 1923. The genealogist turns to the Gazetteer for the thousands of early Vermonters mentioned within its pages. While explicit genealogical data is provided for many individuals, the Gazetteer also reveals important and unique clues about the homes and migrations of families in an era when people moved around a lot and left few paper trails. >> Jill

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nAC.2ACI/1759 Message Board Post: I am looking for information about Cornelius and Helen Hart who lived in or near Ripton. Cornelius died around 1960, Helen died 6 Apr 1996 in Middlebury. She is buried in Prospect Cemetery in East Middlebury. Is Cornelius buried there too? I really need his death date and their marriage date, although they were probably married in another state, possibly NY. Is an index of obituaries from the Addison Independent or other local newspaper available? Are burial records for Prospect Cemetery available? Thanks for your help.
My ggg grandmother Mary Hill was born in Addison County in 1810 and then married in Richland County, OH in 1826. I have been trying to figure out who her parents were....I guess she is before your ancestors' time but maybe you've run into some info. Thanks. Marilee C. We suspect that a Sturdevant girl married John Bartram bef 1790- children born Matilda 1794, Joseph 1795, Clarissa 1798, Willis 1800. We don't know what her name was or anything about her. Buck is almost as bad. Hannah Craw was married to Mr Buck before she married John Bartram (above) We don't know if she had children with Mr Buck and we don't know anything else about him. So, I am looking for a female Sturdevant (any spelling) and a male Buck.
