However, they they state they have never heard of them and the Bixby Library didn't know what I was talking about either. I am trying to locate information on a Joseph Carpenter b. 1783-1784 and d. January 23, 1822 and is buried in the School Street Cemetery. I have the transcription of his headstone but was unable to gain access to the cemetery to obtain a picture or see it for my self as it is completely closed in and locked. I am trying to find out if there is any other record of his death and who might have been his wife. Children information also. I have hit a brick wall and am unsure where to look now. Are there really any available records for Vergennes or Addison County in regards to the early 1800's? Any suggestions would be most welcome! Thanks. - Hi - the record books were kept in the town vault last time I was there in 1997. They are a little sketchy about the early years of Vergennes - obviously you have been there. They wouldn't let you into the vault? There is also transcripts for various Addison county ce3metaries that was done long ago. They are kept in the New York City library special collections. When I inquired, they said that they were too fragile to photocopy. When I complained, they finally sent me some specfic pages - I mean,., why keep books, if you don't share the information. I will gladly share any information I have on this family (the SAGE side). You (and any others interested) can contact me at morrisog@alpenacc.edu. I also have some pictures of the family. They sure looked strong and healthy. Please understand that I have just begun to detail the members, so much of what I have is unverified. That will be remedied as I go along. As always, once I find any verification, I notify those that are on my list of researchers. In the 1850 census for Hartsville, Steuben, NY, Elizur is listed in dwelling 50 and David, along with David B and his family, are listed in dwelling 54. Thank you for your contribution. I don't know anything about them other than the years for their births and deaths. I do have the information for a lot of their ancestors that is already out there, other than David's mother, Rhoda Goodrich's death info, and Melissa's date of death. David is on the 1850 NY census with a wife, Susan, living with (or near; can't remember off hand) son David B. I can't add anything on Alma, George, and Elizur other than their birth year, so if you have more than that, I would be interested. My GG grandfather was their son, David B. Sage 1818. If you want more on that branch, I can tell you what I have for his wife and descendants. I'd really like to find a photo of David B. if possible. I have one of his wife and adult children, and have also been to his grave site in South Dakota. Let me know if I can help you with this branch, and thanks for sharing what you know.
