Author: PatH727 Surnames: Chase, Clark Classification: lookup Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.vermont.counties.addison/2927/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Does someone have access to the index to Births, marriages, deaths in the Bristol town records? I am trying to find the source for birth and marriage information for Sarah M. Chase that I found in Ancestral File. Sarah or Sally Melissa Chase, born 14 Aug 1831 in Bristol, Addison, VT, daughter of Abner Chase (1784-1808) and Amy Scott (1788- ). Married 31 Jan 1831, in Bristol, Addison, VT, to Lucius Clark, born 14 Aug 1803 (birthplace of Manessa, St. Lawrence, NY is incorrect, he was probably born in Rutland Co., VT, but was possibly a resident of NY at the time of the marriage). According to census records, their first two children were born in Vermont, so their births may be recorded in Bristol: 1. Sylvester Clark, born abt 1831 2. Martha Ann Clark, born abt 1835 By 1841 the family was in NY; they followed the Mormons west and by 1842 were in Nauvoo, IL; in 1848 they moved to Des Moines, Van Buren Co., Iowa, where Lucius died in 1864. -------------- Forwarded Message: -------------- From: hilmalarkin@comcast.net To: vtaddiso-L-@rootsweb.com (Addison Vt) Subject: Susan & Charlotte St. Pierre/Lapier/Pierce-b.1833 Date: Sun, 15 Jul 2007 21:15:23 +0000 My gr. grandmother Susan and her twin Charlotte were b.21 March 1833 to (Clarinda) Eliza Hurlburt (Hebert?) and Edward St. Pierre. Various places of birth have been given; Faifield, Swanton, and Panton, which was on Susan's death certificate. I have been unable to get confirmation from any of those places. Susan died in Addison city 18 October 1920. The girls were shown at age 17 living with their mother and stepfather Joseph Naylor, in Addison city. I have quite a lot of information about Susan, but nothing at all further about Charlotte. I was told she was married but had no children. Does anyone out there know anything about her? I would be grateful for anything at all about eaither of the twins. Thank you HIlma
