Surnames: BUCK, PHINNEY, DURAND Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/nAC.2ACI/1418 Message Board Post: My ancestor Jonathan Buck (b.1751) moved from CT to Monkton VT and was listed on the 1790 census. He married Irena/Irina and the census showed they had 2 daughters and a son. A neighbor was Joel Phinney and Joseph Durand. Jonathan and his son Walter moved then to Elizabethtown, Essex Co, NY by 1800 with their wives (Walter's wife was Chloe). The 2 daughters must have married. In Elizabethtown Jonathan and Walter's neighbors were Joseph and Simeon Durand, Sampson Smith, and Joel Phinney again. By 1830 Jonathan and Walter moved to Lorain Co, OH and a Thomas Durand is located by them. Any connections between the BUCK, PHINNEY, and DURAND families? Walter and Chloe had many children: Alvin, Walter, Jonathan, Noah, Truman, Edward, Henry Horace (my ancestor), Roxanna, and three other daughters who were married in Ohio. Thank you for any help.
