I found a marriage between Nicholas O'Brien and Elizabeth Perkins on 14 Oct 1847 in Panton VT. I think this may be my great-grandparents. I need more information to be sure. My grandfather, George Edward O'Brien, was born about 1859-1864. He was the son of Nicholas O'Brien and Sarah Perkins. He was born either in Chazy NY or Vermont. He gave a lot of conflicting information. The 1880 U. S. Census shows Sarah O'Brien age 57 a widow and her son George O'Brien age 21 living in Chazy NY. According to the census they were both born in Vermont. I found a marriage for Nicholas O'Brien and Elizabeth Perkins on 14 Oct 1847 in Panton VT. I don't know for sure if this is my great-grandparents. George came to Lowell MA in the early 1880's and started his family in 1883. I have plenty of information after 1883 but next to nothing before 1883. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated. Bob Brien Fitchburg MA [email protected]

Dana Lamb, born in 1800 in Georgia, VT, graduated from the University of Vermont in 1824 and was the pastor of the Bridport Congregational Church from about 1832 to 1846 when he moved to Wisconsin, where his daughter Elizabeth Cordelia married my great grandfather. He supposedly had two more children who died while he was the pastor of the church in Bridport. His wife may have died there as well as she is not listed in the 1850 census record. If anyone lives in Bridport and could check the Congregational Church cemetery for Lambs who died between 1832-1847 I would appreciate it greatly.
Do any of you Fairchild descendants have these Farichilds? First: Hannah W. Fairchild, b. 1772 m. John Bowers in Morris Co, NJ 1794. Their son John C. Bowers m. Mary Hayward and both ended up in Addison Co, VT. Actually Mary was born in Addison, VT. Who were Hannah's parents? Any one connected to this Bowers line? Second: Jonathan Fairchild (no dates, etc. known) m. Hannah Beardsley. She was b. in Stratford, Fairfiled Co, CT and was the dau of Mary Whitmore and Josiah Breadsley. I need dates/places on Jonathan and Hannah...and am interested in the Whitmore line. Third: Mary Ellen Fairchild m. Rice Converse in the mid 1800s. (I have no dates on her or places) Rice was b. 1841 in Bridport, Addison Co, VT. Rice was the son of Hannah Derby & Caleb Converse. I need dates/places on Mary and Rice...and parents of Mary. I'm intersted in the Derby line. Thanks, Emily

' - A genealogy put together by a Miss Gilmore. This is actually about the Fairchild family. This is a genealogy of Thomas Fairchild b 1610 England and lived in Stratford CT. There are several loose ends - that is Fairchilds that did not descend from this Thomas- for example several Fairchilds came down the St Lawrence from Irelend and down along Lake Champlain into NY - there are several Nelson Fairchilds - but none that match yours> I will look for my second edition which is thicker Fredericks(1841) siblings all born NY - Essex county are Aaron(1834), James(1846), John Henry(1848) It may be possible that there was a brother Nelson in there - given the gap between Aaron and Frederick (7 years)

He was born around 1841, but perhaps not that exact year. He enlisted in the Civil War, listing his home as Whitehall, New York. Whitehall, apparently, is very near Willsboro. I am trying to find out who his parents were, so I can trace the lineage back. He spelled his name with an "s" (Fairchilds), and that is how it is spelled on his discharge papers. Could your Frederick be his brother, and your Nelson a nephew? Do you know anything about Frederick's parents or siblings? Thanks for your help Ron
