Article date: June 26 1925 Article description: Obituary of Elizabeth Costello. Article: Poultney, Vt. Passes Away After Lingering Illness. The death of Mrs. William J. Costello occurred at her home on York street on Saturday, after an illness of ten months. She was, before marriage, Elizabeth Carvey. daughter of the late Michael and Mary Mahar Carvay, and was born in this town April 30, 1871, where she lived all but three years of her life. The cause of death was septicemia. On September 18, 1893, she married W. J. Costello,and as a result of the union six children were born, five of whom survive, viz.: Mary, Agnes, Elizabeth, Joseph O. and William B. There are also two sisters, Mrs. James Carmody of North Poultney and Miss Margaret Carvay of this village, and one brother, Owen E. Carvay. The funeral was held from St. Raphael's church on Tuesday morning Rev. M.S. O'Donnell officiating. Interment was made in the R.C. cemetery cemetery in this village, the Rev. John J. Hogan officiating. The bearers were : John Carmody, William J. Minogue, John McNierney, Sr., Michael Keeveland, Edward Donohue and Dr. E.
