The Whist club will meet Friday evening with Miss Caro and Lilla Thrall. James Penders is home from Chicago, Ill. The board of civil authority will meet next Monday evening to hear complaints of persons not satisfied with the listers' appraisal of property. John Felt is home from Watertown, N.Y. R. H. Watkins and wife have returned from Fort Ann. N.Y. N. E. Alden of Fair Haven, who recently bought Hosford's photograph outfit, took possession Tuesday. P.T.Hubbard has a clock on exhibition which is quite a curiosity. The case is made of Missouri gray limestone, polished. The parts were turned and fitted entirely by hand. The front of the clock, which is made up of 64 pieces, is 23 inches high and 11 inches wide.
